"I was at WSU for three years before pledging Gamma, and those three years were very lonely and stressful. I met two girls in my classes, Rachel and Lizz, and they first introduced me to Gamma Alpha Omega. I saw them at a party over the summer and they told me how much fun it is and how fun it would be if I joined their sorority. Pledging Gamma was the best thing I ever did. I can honestly say that almost every girl in the House has become a permanent sister in my life. I now do community service and I feel like I have a home away from home where I can speak Spanish with people, share recipes and have a commonality with other girls. I love my sorority and it loves me!"

"I knew Gamma Alpha Omega was for me when I met the girls. I had been raised by my mother who was white and had never really had any contact with any of my peers who are women of color. After meeting the women and really connecting with them, seeing all that they do for the community, and how proud all of the women were of their organization, I knew I too wanted to be a part of the organization they were all so proud to be members of."

"When I first came to WSU-it was hard for me to hang out with people of my own culture-only because I felt the Center wasn't as welcoming. I tried to check out what they had to offer support-wise, but it just didn't feel right. All that changed when I found out about Gamma Alpha Omega and what they had to offer. Finally, I had found an organization that was ideal for what I was looking for as a support system while in school: friendship, fun times and many good memories, the sisterhood, and lots of unconditional love. But more importantly, they offered academic and professional support for myself as a Chicana/Latina pursuing a higher education. Also, it allowed me to get more involved with my community and do things to help others within the community; and that is a great feeling! Through Gamma-I learned more about other Chicanas/Latinas like me and about my culture. I have found an even greater strength and confidence within myself through Gamma. GAO has always brought out the best in me and I am thankful for all that Gamma is and what it represents. It's the sisters that make up Gamma that have really had an amazing impact on my life. We all share a lot of the same beliefs and morals and are all pursuing a common goal and we are all bonded in such a sacred and dear way. I am proud to represent GAO through our pillars of Honesty, Integrity, Leadership, Scholarship, and especially, Unity. I will always be honored to be a sister of Gamma Alpha Omega Sorority, Inc. I love my sisters! Gamma is in my heart-por vida!"
