"After being at WSU for a few months I decided that I needed something more than the organizations that were already present. I felt there was a need for an organization that provided academic, professional, as well as personal support at the WSU campus. I discovered a group of women that were looking for the same thing and after months of searching we decided on Gamma Alpha Omega. As a founding mother I strongly believe in a diverse membership, a commitment to academics, excellence and a proactive vision towards raising awareness about Chicano/Latino culture and history. United with our sisters by our common goals and through the efforts of GAO, we hope to affect change and provide our communities with examples of leadership, integrity and self-empowerment that will allow us to challenge adversity and inequality. Meanwhile, also fostering a cohesive and supportive environment for all our GAO sisters and building a bond that will unite us for a lifetime. For those reasons, I am Gamma Alpha Omega, Delta Chapter Founding Mother and will cherish GAO and my sisters forever."

"I came to WSU looking for a "family" that would accept me for me. I knew I wanted to join a non-traditional (non-Pan Hellenic) sorority, but I wasn't sure where I belonged. So, I got together with a group of women to discuss the ideas of a Latina sorority. When deciding on a sorority to bring to WSU, we did a lot of research. I found Gamma to be the one that would not only benefit myself but the other women on our campus. It has been a vital part of my years at WSU, both as an undergrad and Alumni."

"My first year at WSU I heard that the first Chicana/Latina sorority GAO was starting up. I was not sure that I wanted to be in this type of organization but I went ahead and learned more about it. I can tell you know that was one of the best decisions that I made during my academic career. This organization was big on academics and community service and so was I. Also, the pillars of Honesty, Integrity, Leadership, Scholarship, and Unity were ones that I had already been living my life by and one I would live my life by. I became a Charter Member and I helped to bring this sorority to WSU. Throughout my years at WSU, I made so many memories and I met so many wonderful sisters through GAO. Wherever I go I will never forget Gamma!!"

"Gamma Alpha Omega was a rewarding experience for me. I have made wonderful bonds with women who share the same vision as I do. I chose GAO to have a support system within the Chicana/Latina community, and to endure long lasting friendships built on Honesty and Integrity. I chose GAO for the pillars it stands by which are Honesty, Integrity, Leadership, Scholarship, and Unity. I will never forget the long lasting friendships I have acquired as a member."

"Becoming a sister of Gamma Alpha Omega has been one of the best decisions of my life. More than GAO being a decision, it was fate. It was fate and luck that these beautiful and inspiring women have come into my life and it was due to the power of GAO that I could call these women my sisters. They have provided me with a family that I will cherish and protect for the rest of my life. My times with Gamma Alpha Omega have been filled with educational and personal achievements that have strengthened my character as a woman, a scholar, and an activist."

"My experience with Gamma has been one of sisterhood and friendship; of a sacred bond between women with a common goal and desire to share the experience of sisterhood. Some of the incredible memories of Gamma that I hold dear to me range from getting Charter status to baking cookies and listening to Michael Jackson. I've learned from the love and dedication that all of my sisters show towards each other. I've learned to love unconditionally and be supportive through all efforts these women exert. I call them my sisters, bonded by love and respect."

"I joined GAO because of the strong foundation in Honesty, Integrity, Leadership, Scholarship, and Unity, as well as the connection to Raza. Moreover, I am deeply committed to the academic success of Chicanas/Latinas in higher education. I love working with the young Mujeres in GAO; their energy, vision, leadership style, and hope is a constant inspiration in my life. I am proud and honored to be a part of this organization."
