Major:

"I chose to be in Gamma not only because of what Gamma stands for, but also for the ladies who are a part of this amazing organization. When I first became interested, I met with the house and they genuinely became interested in me and what I was about. I felt so at ease and comfortable with all of them. It was weird because it was like being with family, it just felt right. This was the main reason behind my decision to join Gamma. The other big reason why I chose Gamma, was because of the pillars and values that it stands for, Honest, Integrity, Leadership, Scholarship, Unity. These are values that I strive for on a daily basis and I know only great things will come from my participation within this fantastic organization!"

Major: Business (Undiecided)

Growing up as the oldest child in my family has encouraged me set high goals. It was up to me to set a good example for my younger siblings. For this reason I became a cougar at W.S.U. As a freshman, it was quite difficult to adjust to the new college life. I soon started exploring all the variety of Latino/a organizations at W.S.U. I really wanted get involved in activities in the community and campus. One particular organization that really amazed me was Gamma Alpha Omega Sorority, Inc. I felt so welcomed by all the members. I learned all what this organization was about and instantly knew G.A.O. had all the qualities I had been seeking for, which includes the five pillars. With my involvement in G.A.O. and support of my sisters, I will gain more skills to better prepare me to become a well educated Chicana in the real world.

"Being the oldest child and a role model for my siblings, I felt the need to succeed and set a good example for them to follow. This brought me to WSU, but when I arrived I felt very insignificant because the campus was so big. I wanted to get involved, but I didn't even know where to start. As soon as I learned what GAO was all about I decided that it was exactly what I needed. A strong organization of women who worked together to help with the needs of the community as well as each others' needs. The girls are exemplary in many ways and truly represent the pillars of the organization. Although, I am still new I already feel like I've known them all my life, which goes to show how strong of a sisterly bond we all have between us! Gamma Por Vida!
