Sister of the Month

1. What is your favorite childhood memory and why?
My favorite childhood memory was dinner during the week with my family. We would all gather up and eat around the coffee table in front of the television and watch MacGyver and talk while we watched because we were so amazed. We thought he was sooo awesome. We wanted to know how he always came up with the perfect solution to every obstacle. Then after that, we would watch the “novela” and my dad would start whistling when there was kissing on TV and that was our queue to close our eyes and turn around until he said it was okay again. ?

2. What three words best describe you?
Sincere, caring, and of course…Inolvidable…come on, you knew that was coming. ?

3. What is the most daring thing you have always wanted to do, but still haven't done yet?
I would absolutely LOVE skydiving. The closest thing I’ve gotten is cable gliding across rainforest in Costa Rica…Maybe someday I’ll be gutsy enough to jump out! ?

4. If you have $1 million to do what you wished, what would be the first three things you would do?
Pay off all of my families bills. Create trust fund for my nieces and nephews ONLY if they go to college and open an orphanage in my hometown in Mexico. I think that would be very rewarding.

5. What is one experience you have had that made you re-affirm your love for Gamma?
The one thing that always reaffirms my love for Gamma is ceremonies, it doesn’t matter what type it is (of course some more than others). Every time I see an alumni at a ceremony or just listening to the readings, is amazing. You can’t help but become engaged in what is being said that it hits you all over again, and you remember how much love you have for this wonderful organization.

6. If you could pick one celebrity to be for one whole week, who would it be and why?
Oh man, OPRAH!!!! Just because she is so wealthy and you could so many things for charity. I know she already does, but could you imagine how much you could help out our Latino community with Oprah’s money? Wow!! ?

7. If you could travel to any country in the world, where would you travel to and why? How would you get there and who would go with you?
Well I already went to Costa Rica with the love of my life, Ms. Laura Covarrubias. However, if I am offered another opportunity, I would like to go to Italy because I’ve been obsessed with this country since I can remember. I would love to get there on a cruise ship and this time I think I would like to go with my family (biological) because they are absolutely WONDERFUL and they deserve it.

8. Where do you see Gamma in 10 years?
In 10 years? Gamma members would be getting ready for our wonderful 20th year celebration. ? I would love to see a large amount of alumni at the reunion and a wonderful group of active members, each doing wonderful things for themselves, their families, and their communities.

9. What would you like to ask the next sister of the month?
What have you enjoyed the most so far being an active GAO member of the Distinguished Delta Chapter?

One last thing to my wonderful sorority sisters…I love having you ALL as my sisters, whether we’re super close or not, just knowing that I have your love and support regardless, makes this bond so special. To my active neos, you are going to do an AMAZING job with the house. You have everything it takes, work hard and remember to keep GAO as wonderful as ever. To my littles, you both make me so PROUD, I love you both. And of course, to my wonderful Sands, LA-MB-DA!!! Nothing but love for all of you.
