Ms. Maria Gonzalez is a fantastic, hard-working, woman that is always willing to help the organization. Even if she is not physically in Pullman, the active house can always feel her presence and her advice during chapter meetings and other service events. Although it is difficult for Ms. Gonzalez to travel regularly from WSU-Spokane campus, she tries her best to attend many important events the house puts on every semester. She holds the position of National Representative and not only does she excel in her position, she is able to maintain a great academic standing in her nursing major. Overall, Ms. Gonzalez is a much needed asset to this organization and we thank her sincerely for all her hard work.

Q. Why did you pick nursing as your career?
I feel that the Latino community is extremely underrepresented the medical field. Being bilingual and bicultural is helpful for the patients who are not fluent in English. It provides them with a sense of security and comfort when they need healthcare. I feel that it is our responsibility to change the under representation of the Latino community and to encourage others to do so as well. By accomplishing my goal I will also set a good example for my younger siblings to follow and hopefully gain motivation to accomplish their own goals.

Q. What do ultimately want to do when you are done with school?
I hope to successfully attain a career my family would be proud of. I would like to spend time in other countries working with the Peace Corps and educating on women's right's and healthcare. My ultimate goal is to earn a master's degree as a Certified Nurse Practitioner and eventually own my own practice.

Q. Describe your perfect mate:
Tall, dark, good smile and broad shoulders; the typical dreamy man...lol. Someone who has ambition and goals in life and is willing to work to reach them. Most importantly I want someone who will be my best friend. A guy who is sincere, caring/understanding, fun and make me smile even when I really dont want to.

Q. Do you like animals, and if so, what kind is your favorite?
Well, I haven't had a pet for a really long time, but in the past I've had bunnies, cats, fish, and goats. I think that my favorite pet would have to be little puppies! I want one, but they have rules at my apartment complex...dang it!

Q. Who is your favorite Disney character and why?
I love NEMO! He is soo cute. I can watch that movie over and over and if you know me well you know that I tend to randomly quote from that movie... Dori comes in a close second "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming."

Q. What is your most cherished memory of GAO life thus far?
There is too many of these too! Basically any time spent with my sisters becomes cherished memories. One memory that will never be forgotten will be the moment that I was activated with my Kappa Klass into this wonderful organization of amazing women!

Q. What is your favorite quote and why?
Man, there are way too many!! I guess one of my favorites would have to be: "Life is too short to wake up it in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life let it. Nobody said that it'd be easy, they just promised in the end it would be worth it."

Q. How many hours would you say you average daily on myspace and facebook combined? :)
Yes, I admit to be a myspace/facebook addict! I used to be on this way more often ...cutting back on it because I'm not home as much. School keeps me pretty busy. Lets see I would say a total of maybe 2-3 hours?
