Q. What are your plans after graduating
in May?
After graduating in May (phew…finally!) I plan on moving back
home, and pursuing an internship within a law firm, to gain experience
and reassurance on my planned career goals. Eventually, if all goes
as planned, I will be applying for law schools fall 2007 and beginning
an entirely new endeavor into the law program, to achieve my JD and
pursue a law career defending those whose civil rights have been jeopardized.
Q. Where in the world would you like
to visit and why?
I'd like to visit my hometown again, and actually, the home I grew up
in. I have so many wonderful memories of that place with my family and
friends. I was such a troublemaker growing up too-- I have the scars
to prove it.
Q. What is your favorite movie?
I love movies! I wish there were more hours in the day to enjoy a nice
viewing, but I can't say that I don't make time either. My favorite
movie of all time though? This is a hard one, and I don't think I can
really choose a favorite. I love, love, love the movie "Now and
Then" though. I think it's because it reminds me a lot of my younger
sister and me and our adventures growing up.
Q. What is your favorite food?
Oh geez, not another favorite. I love food—this is an undeniable
truth. I'm especially a sucker for sweets though. I love anything with
chocolate…chocolate chip cookies, extra hot fudge vanilla sundae
(from McDonald's. Just ask my Vice, she knows.), chocolate milk, hot
chocolate…I think I've made my point. Favorite FOOD though, is
undoubtedly Mexican food. Oh yeah, can't forget that Salvodorean side
of me too—popusas are the bomb.
Q. Who is your favorite Disney character and why?
Hmmm… probably…Prince Charming, because well, he is pretty
much the prototype of what a perfect man should be. I wish he really
existed, I'd be sure to boo him up.
Q. What is your favorite saying and
why?
"Solo se necesita una CHISPITA para empezar un fuego."—because
all you really do need is that one idea, concept or event to start the
adventure toward a greater achievement.
Q. What is your favorite GAO memory
thus far?
There are way too many favorite memories with GAO and with my sisters.
However, one event in particular (for this semester) stands out—it
was during the this last semester. I was responsible for reading a poem.
There I stood, in front of everyone and before I could even finish the
first stanza I was already crying. Not like a tear there, a tear here,
it was a full blown cry-fest. When I looked up, my sisters were crying
with me though, including those who'd I'd grown so close to. The poem
was beautifully written to capture all of the words that I had been
unable to recite all semester. It was then that I fully came to realize
my appreciation for my sisters and the heartache too that was to come
as graduation neared. I'm thankful for everyone who has touched my life
throughout my time with Gamma, and I would especially like to recognize
my Vice, Patricia Moreno. It's a well known theory that in positions
of leadership, it gets lonely at the top, but you never made me feel
more surrounded or loved. Thank you for never leaving my side even when
I insisted that you study or rest. MGLA.
Just a side note: Not everything in
life will be perfect and in fact, the life of a Gamma is never easy.
One must always remember that those trials and tribulations are what
make GAO sisters unique. We are the competent and driven women of the
future. We are few but we are strong, and there is no stopping us for
we are sisters of GAO. I love my sorority and I adore my sorors-- continue
the legacy as our founders would have appreciated us too.
