Q. What is your main goal in life both personal and professional?
A. My main goal in life both personal and professional has always been able to accomplish my academic goals by being able to pursue higher education and a professional career later down in life. On the personal level I hope to stay healthy both emotional and healthy, I also hope to mature and be able to continue strengthening my independence and grow as an individual. On the professional level I plan to graduate from college with a double Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and social science, and be able to continue on towards a Master’s degree in social work to become a social case worker working with social services, family relations, foster care, adoption, and juvenile cases.

Q. If you were a tree (or animal) what kind of tree (animal) would you be?
A. If I were an animal or a tree I would rather be a dolphin, I’m not very familiar with types of trees and their meanings so I would rather choose to be an animal in this case a dolphin. The reason I’d choose to be a dolphin, one because they have been one of my favorite’s animals of all times. Back when I was living in California I had the chance to attend sea world for a class field trip and I had the opportunity to swim with a dolphin, and it really was one of most memorable experience growing up. Part of the reason why I would prefer being a dolphin is also because they have more than a simple warm blooded mammal, but their name and character has a very religious meaning. The meaning of a dolphin relates a lot to the admiration for their speed together with their productivity and believed to be successful in their endeavors. It’s also believed that individuals such as Dolphins aspire to imitate within their kindness and their skills in giving aid to others.

Q. Where do you see yourself in ten years from now?
A. In ten years from now I will be at the age of 30 years old, it feels so far from now but it will be coming at a fast speed that I really hope to have a family started, my own home, and continuing to work in my career as a social case working to help others around local minority and middle class communities. In ten years I know that I would have already finished my school years with my Bachelors degree as well as my Master’s degree in social work and had begun my career in the social service area. I also hope to be able to help my parents having their own land, and a new home for the family, as well hope to see my siblings succeeding in school by attending a university in the state or even out of state. In the same time I hope to be a good parent to my children, spending the next ten years or so with the right prince charming.

Q. What would be your ultimate goal for Gamma Alpha Omega?
A. My ultimate goal for Gamma Alpha Omega would be to be able it make it a larger and stronger organization all over the states, local, and even being able to take it nationwide. I feel because Gamma Alpha Omega is a community non-profit base organization as well as here to help young women of color to be succeed and accomplish their academic and professional goals, this organization would need to be able to have larger emphasis on promoting higher education as well as support for young women of color to become successful women in their lives. As a community based organization I think we can also build nationwide community service sponsors that we can be involved on both a monthly and yearly basis on order to raise funds or simply helping our local needy communities.

Q. If you were given $5000 dollars what would you do with it?
A. If I was given 5,000 dollars I would give that money to my parents for them to be able to get their own dream house on a location of their best preference. The reason why I would give all that money to my parents is for the fact that I have seen all the financial struggles they have gone through and have always being able to help them whenever they need any financial help. With this money I know for sure that my parents would be able start building their home without having to worry of paying rent every month to a home that is not even theirs.

Q. What do you like to do to de-stress after a tough day or a tough week?
A. After a tough long day or tough week I like to hang out with my friends either watch a movie or go to the gym and run it off. In other times that I go through a tough week I simply like to go run for a couple hours and forget about everything and everyone, it helps me to relax and enjoy life at my own paste. To de-stress I also like reading for fun, or simply if I’m at home I go and play soccer or other sports with my siblings.

Q. What is your favorite candy?
A. Funny thing I really don’t eat much candy, but if I had to choose from the only candy I eat my favorite would be Almond coconut candy, it’s fresh and good tasting both from the inside and out.

Q. What has been your favorite GAO memory thus far?
A. One of my favorite memory from Gamma Alpha Omega so far, well there’s been a lot to tell you the true, yet the greatest one has being receiving the Gamma rose at crossing night after a long PA process of challenges and hard times that really I would not mind doing it all over again. I feel that it was the greatest feeling of accomplishment ever, since I knew that once I had successfully done with the program it would open a lot of doors to my academic and personal success.

Q. What is your favorite baby making music?
A. I don’t think I have any favorite making music that I can recall; I’d probably say any song or tone that would make you fall asleep slowly. I just don’t have a good memory with name of music especially baby making music.

Q. Who is your hero?
A. My hero would be both my parents, more than anything my dad, he has been more than just my father growing up, he’s being a guide, counselor, role model, my good friend and my coach. He’s taught me to know who I’m and what I can capable of doing, I respect him very much with all my heart if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be in school or working hard towards my degree. My dad has been one of those individuals that even if life has placed many barriers and challenges throughout life he has being able to overcome, challenge and prove others wrong and show them that nothing in life is impossible if there is effort, work and a heart in it.

Q. One place you would want to travel if money wasn’t an issue?
A. If money was not the issue I would love to travel to Paris or Italy, any place in Europe has being my dream traveling states to travel to sometime in my life. On the same note I would love to take my family with me to experience traveling outside of the country and spend several days outside of home. Traveling to Italy or Paris would be the highlight of my life and school career.

Q. What do you consider the best part about being in Gamma Alpha Omega?
A. The best part of being part of Gamma Alpha Omega has being the social and individual support, and second the building of social networks around the girls in the organization. Not only do I consider this organization my baby, it’s also being a second family for me, I know that in any type of situation I come across needing help I can always count on any of sorority sisters, even if it’s a simple call, a ride, a money loan, or a simple advice I know I have someone’s shoulder to lean on. Gamma Alpha Omega has also helped me to grow as an individual, and as a leader, I’ve been able to challenge myself, being more responsible, organized, and gained career and professional leadership positions within the organization.
